Anonymous asked: when & why did you start shiping jyler?
Well the when is the easy part; the pilot. That first scene they had together, they way they looked at each other, it just seemed like there had to be something more there. Honestly, for a moment I thought they used to date.
Why is a whole mess of things.
Firstly, they way they fucking look at each other. You don’t look at someone like that if you don’t feel something for them. You just don’t.
Then there’s the fact that they fight so much. To me, it’s like they’re overcompensating. They’re not supposed to get along, everyone pretty much tells them they’re not, so they don’t. But they soon find out how much they do have in common and that they actually do get along.
Then there is 1x10. When Tyler refused to fight Jeremy. So much was going on there. Like I said before, they’ve beat each other up already so many times, so what’s one more time going to do? But when someone told Tyler to beat up Jeremy, he didn’t do it. He couldn’t do it. Not to mention, he was disobeying a direct order from his father, (and there is no way anyone can convince me Tyler’s dad wasn’t abusive towards him).
And then came 1x17 and 1x18. The way they looked at each other when they found out Vicki was dead. The entire reason they ever even breathed the same air was dead, and Tyler’s first instinct was to look back at Jeremy. Not anyone else. Jeremy. And the two of them sitting at that table in Matt’s house, just looking at each other, not saying anything, but just looking at each other, saying 'I'm sorry' without actually speaking. That was huge.
And I’m sorry, but in 1x18, Jeremy had his leg all up on Tyler while they were sitting on that bench.
In season two, Jeremy helped Tyler. He went and found him at the funeral (sorry, you don’t stop to talk to someone if you’re really just looking for the bathroom), and they shared a moment of 'I understand exactly how you feel'. Tyler had people coming up saying how sorry they were all day, and Jeremy had already been through that. He knew how he felt. And they bonded over that fact and started to form a genuine friendship.
Season. Fucking. Three.
One episode, they got one episode. And it was beautiful. I’m trying to keep this short, so I won’t explain ever feeling I have on that episode, and I’ll just say this:
Jeremy was the first one who made Tyler realize what Klaus was doing to him. If that’s not something that makes a ship otp status I don’t know what is.
All in all, I ship them because of every single fucking thing they do. Steven and Michael have such amazing chemistry, how could I not ship it? They always look at each other with such intensity, so much underlining emotion. No one will ever convince me that these two characters don’t feel something more for each other deep down.
and then he kissed me, and it was the best feeling of my life.
